Nerikomi introduction January ‘25

  • TOKOBO pottery Unit 74, 8 Andrews Road London, England, E8 4QN United Kingdom (map)

ALL LEVELS

The Japanese Nerikomi, also known as Neriage, is a pottery technique that involves using multiple coloured clays to create intricate and captivating surface designs. Similar to agateware and marbled ware, the method involves creating patterns within the clay. In Japan, it has evolved to celebrate a wider range of designs, including geometric & floral patterns, and even cartoon characters.

This course will offer you an insight into the pattern making using the Japanese Nerikomi technique. You'll gain knowledge of the fundamental principles, techniques, and tips to achieve different designs.

During the course, you will make basic shape objects such as plates and bowls with the Nerikomi slab, and we will finish the rest. Your pieces will be ready and available for pickup after about a month, or arrangements can be made for shipping if necessary.

The course will be held on 12th January, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with a one-hour break included.
